Auditions for "One Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall"

When creative people want to create, they find a way! 

The Dayton Playhouse is producing One Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall, a poignant look at the Christmas season through the eyes of several shoppers at a midwestern mall on the last shopping day of the season. 

Director Brian Sharp is looking for actors to perform the show in small groups which will be filmed and edited and then available on the Dayton Playhouse YouTube channel for viewing. Auditions are at the Dayton Playhouse Monday, Oct. 12 and Tuesday, Oct. 13 by appointment only. Actors can sign up for an audition via SignUp Genius. Auditioners can also be assured all mandated safety protocols are being maintained at the theater. 

About the Show

One Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall, by Lynne Halliday, James Hindman, Arlene Hutton and Craig Pospisil, is actually a series of nine short plays and features a diverse cast of characters from a love-sick Santa to an over-eager mall security guard. One Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall wraps the delights and burdens of the holiday season into one merry package. One reviewer said, “One Christmas Eve at Evergreen Mall is charming throughout, and offers a number of both lovely and fun moments. It provides a feel-good holiday experience that may leave you with some fond memories.” 

The director will conduct cold readings from the script and is looking for the following: 

13 Females:

4 - in the 40s

4 - in the 30s

3 - in the 20s

2 - late teens 16-19

8 Males:

1 - in the 40s plus

4 - in the 30s

2 - in the 20s

1 - in the late teens 16-19
